Anesthesia Procedures AT LIMA

General Anesthesia

This is a procedure that makes the patient fully unconscious. Medication is given either through a breathing mask or via IV injection. After the procedure is done, the anesthesia is slowly reduced and the patient is monitored closely in recovery room till the effect of anesthesia subsides.

Regional Anesthesia

In this procedure, only the particular region to be operated upon is made numb. The anesthesia is given through the nerve which provides sensation for that particular body part. The 2 types of regional anesthesia are: Spinal and Epidural.

Local Anesthesia

This type of anesthesia is given to temporarily stop the sensation of pain in any specific area of the body. The medication is given via injection at the particular site, for eg. injection given before applying stitches in case of deep cuts. Throughout the procedure the patient is awake and conscious.

Sedation

Sedation is a procedure that makes the patient feel relaxed during minor procedures lasting for shorter duration of time. Medication are given by injection into the veins.
